Two machines, two jobs

• The workstation is the group's. It runs the tool, and it is the only thing that presses Run. It reaches this site and nothing else.
• The Chromebook is yours. This deck, the form, and the sources live here. Everyone submits their own.

Do not sign in to the tool on your Chromebook. Your station gets three runs for the whole period, and a run started from a Chromebook spends one of them.

Phase 1 — At the workstation

1. Open the tool. muggsofcompsci.net/prompts — pick your station number.
2. Read today's prompt on screen. It is already loaded. You never type it, and you never change it.
3. One person presses Run. Once. There is no run-it-again and no follow-up question. That is the rule that makes the week work.
4. Watch all three panes fill. They come back at different speeds — that is the smaller model doing less arithmetic per word, not a better model.

Phase 2 — Record what came back

5. Copy the line the tool gives you — period, station, day, run — into your notebook. The form asks for it, and it is how your work gets marked against the right run.
6. Everyone records. One typist per run, rotating. Use the copy buttons on a pane — do not retype anything, ever.

Phase 3 — On your Chromebook

7. Fill in the form. The graded floor is 15 required items in the observation section. Finish those first, then keep going.
8. Exit ticket is section 2 of the same form. Submit is the only save.

Stations will not all see the same responses. That is the tool working, not the tool broken.

Question 3 is the odd one. A population always carries a date, so write down the date you found as well as the number. A stale population is not wrong the same way a wrong coach is wrong.
